'CULTURE SHOCK', BY JANET CHANDLER

The book is about a Spanish teenager called Paloma Santos. She is obliged to go to England with her family,  but she doesn’t  want to. She prefers to continue living in Spain. She has got a little brother and a sister too. She has  to go to England because his father has been offered a job  because of his good English. While she is in England, she improves her English and meets a lot of friends. However, she will have problems with them and with Alexa because of a misunderstanding.  Alexa never invited anybody because  she has got a severely mentally handicapped sister. Everybody was angry with her and with Paloma  but, later on, her friends realize that they were wrong. They forgive Paloma when she comes back from her holidays in Spain. There, her grandparents tell her and  her sister that his father  is an alcoholic person and they have to help him to overcome this problem. Something they will do, of course!
